When you spend all day at the wheel, you really value your creature comforts. Toyota Coaster gives you plenty. It all starts with an ergonomic seat, dash, gear lever, and steering wheel combination. From there, the list goes on...
Power steering, fully adjustable bucket seat with lumbar support, tilt adjustable steering wheel, instruments and controls placed close to the driver with rounded ergonomic control switches, convex left mirror, large brake boosters for smooth braking, 4 speaker CD/Radio complete with PA system, automatic folding passenger door in the Standard Coaster, and automatic gliding door in the Deluxe... It all adds up to a driver experience that is so effortless and enjoyable, you won't want to get out!
A comfortable passenger is a happy passenger, the Coaster boasts generous headroom and leg-room, ample space between seats, high ceiling, large windows, 4 speaker CD sound system, air conditioning (not a standard feature on base model), heating and tinted windows. The seating is large and comfortable, with the Deluxe model featuring cloth seats. All seats allow for maximum leg-room and plenty of baggage storage underneath. In addition, the Coaster has been optimised to reduce noise levels, meaning a quiet and comfortable ride for you and your passengers.
PERFORMANCE AND SAFETY
To any bus passenger, a smooth ride is a good ride. thanks to long tapered rear leaf springs and independent front suspension with double wishbone and upper torsion bar, the Coaster delivers a comfortable, stable ride, with minimal body roll. Coaster features an Anti-Skid braking System (ABS) which provides extra control when braking and a door ajar warning for extra peace-of-mind. In the unfortunate event of an emergency, the Coaster has four emergency exits, allowing for a fast evacuation.
In passenger transport, you need acceleration when pulling out from the curb. You need enough in reserve to overtake on the freeway as well as to take on the city traffic lights and still get there on time. The Coaster gives you that. With a 5 speed manual tranmission matched to a 4.0L OHV turbo diesel engine, which produces 110kW of power and 397Nm of torque, this also makes it suitable for towing on long trips away. Coaster continues to perform when it comes to parking, with a tight turning circle of 14.4m, which makes it easy to manoeuvre in tricky situations.
